What we do
Throughout the term, students will work on several different subjects, learning how to develop their work from simple shapes to complex and detailed compositions. At the start of each lesson, the teacher runs a demo of the subject, showing the steps and techniques for students to follow. Students also receive individual support with their work throughout the class. Although the whole class works on one subject together, students are encouraged to add their unique perspective onto every topic โ it is all about learning the skills and using them creatively.
Working on different subjects and in different mediums means that we are always facing new challenges and learning new skills. We work on drawing people and animals in motion, the natural world, and telling stories through art. Our ultimate goal is for students to know that they can draw and paint anything, no matter how new or challenging the subject.
